Amanda says,
“I liked the part where the dog tried to run around all happy being around the people when the Christmas tree was getting decorated. I also liked the part the author talked about flashbacks to allow me to get to know the girl and the dad better in the story. It reminded me about things that happened with my family at Christmas.”

A Tree’s Christmas is an amazing story!  I love books that use personification – and this one is the best I have ever read.  I particularly liked the part where the tree tells his story.  I looked forward with anticipation to hearing all the things that happened to the tree.  I also like the funny editorial comments of Lucky, the dog.   Colton Starley, age 11

Denise, a wonderful lady from Tampa, FL wrote this book review for A Tree’s Christmas

I wrote a blog to my friends today and I wanted to share it with you. Thank you again for your wonderful story. I enjoyed it very much and I know my friends will as well.
“I want to tell you about a story I read today by a Mr. James Andrew Bowen. He is an author of childrens books and his works are published right here in Tampa, FL.

A Tree’s Christmas is a story about a tree that lives a short life but tells a great story. Its tells a story about the small miracles we forget to recognize and appreciate as adults during the hustle and bustle of life. You know that expression,”if these walls could talk” well what if during the holiday your Christmas tree could talk. What would it say about your household and your holiday?

This book makes me think of all the things my past Christmas trees would have said about my childhood holidays. What it saw? What it heard? What it held? After reading this book I realize our tree started the Christmas spirit in my household. With the economy the way it is and with life happening so fast everyday, I have been forgetting about Christmas which is the first time this has ever happened to me but this book takes me back to remembering whats important about this holiday. I may not have a lot to put under my tree this year but my tree will still have a story to tell. It will tell the story of a family that comes a long way to be together to hug, laugh, tell jokes, be merry and remember the loved ones that are not physically here with us but there in spirit. My christmas tree will tell about the new additions to the family and the new friends. It will talk about a family that does what it can to be together for the holidays. What will yours tell?

Check out http://www.atreeschristmas.com to find out more about this book. Its a great story for children and even adults. Lets support our local talent this holiday season.”
